Beginners Starting out Internet Marketing

People who just started out on Internet Marketing ask me alot of questions, but the one that stick out the most was this. “How did you start out on Internet Marketing?” or “What did you do to begin your journey.”

I guess I can relate to this question. It’s exactly how I felt when I first started out. Well, not that I started out 5 years ago. Nope this was about 3 months ago. Even though I had my own personal website, tofumonkey.com, but I wasn’t going to transform my personal site into something related to internet marketing.

The first product I bought was the Secret Affiliate Weapon from Ewen Chia. It was my Internet Marketing foundation. I spent almost two months going through the materials and re-reading and re-reading them. Writing, scribbling notes on them, kept a notebook of the things-to-do In the meantime, I changed my tofumonkey.com to include adsense. Well, this should have been something I need to do when I did up my website but I didn’t. In any case, the adsense really wasn’t fantastic. One click every few days.

But really, the bottom line is, I didn’t push myself to want to make $10,000 in a few days. Yes i agree, it was already done by someone I know. But the bottom line is, I need to build my foundation in internet marketing. Quoting Kelvin Hui, we need to know the rules of the game.

So I signed up for Stuart’s Huge Checks Monthly program. Hoping for a better future and yes, Huge Cheques Monthly! ha! Well ya, $3000 really hurts me. Especially when I’m trying to save up for a baby. But as all businessman look at it. It is all about ROI: Return On Investment. If I delay the baby for a year and able to use the money to generate 100x returns.

It was only after the program that I went into implementing the lessons learnt full force. But of course, I went through the materials over and over and writing and scribbling notes. I drew diagrams to illustrate the IM flow. Of cos I’m a visual person and a little kinesthetic, I enjoy my fair share of voluptous women, and not to mention feeling them. *ahem* Back to topic please! ha! yes, therefore I need to see things and do things to learn.

So here I am, beginning out on Internet Marketing. I guess with a stronger foundation. I’m able to grasp the concept of things faster. Seriously, me being technically-inclined has only helped in setting up my stuffs. But it’s the marketing and the business concepts that needs focus.

Stuart from InternetMarketingSingapore.com mentioned that we need to go myspace.com to make friends, we need to go amazon.com to see what are the products out there. But have we stopped and ponder on why we go there? Is it because he has a stake in these companies, such that he gets paid everytime someone goes there? Nooooo… it’s because it’s popular! With a highly visited site, it means that there’s a ready pool of prospects or there’s a viable market.

So the bottom line is. Know what and why you are doing it. Don’t just nose-dive into everything you do. I know it’s hard, this happens to me all the time in whatever crap I do. But when we are just caught in things that we do. Take a step back and learn to analyse the situation from a 3rd party point-of-view.

This is something I learnt when I'm being caught up in a situation where I simply cannot solve. It's really hard, but I have to walk away from the situation, chill down a little and come back with a different mindset to tackle the problem again.
